Kick Off of Refuse to Use

he Refuse to Use program provides substance use prevention education to students, schools, and families along with the offer of a healthy alternative to substance use. For a small fee, participants can choose between a season pass to Stratton Mountain Resort, Riley Rink or Viking Nordic Center. In order to participate in the program, families must attend the mandatory Kick-off on Sunday, September 25th at the Stratton Mountain Base Area Tent in addition to four educational events at their school. Participants must also register online at thecollaborative.us/rturegistration before October 14th. The event starts at 11am sharp, doors open at 10:30am for sign-in. A parent/guardian/caring adult MUST attend with their student. The keynote speaker is Matt Bellace who has a positive, science-based and seriously entertaining approach to substance abuse prevention. BBQ and discounted gondola rides to the summit of Stratton will be available for purchase after the event. The participating schools are Arlington Middle High School, Maple Street School, Manchester Elementary-Middle School, Burr & Burton Academy, The Dorset School, Long Trail School, Mountain School at Winhall, Flood Brook School, and Leland and Gray Union School.
