Join us at Bent Northrop Memorial Library, on Thursday, Sept. 22nd, at 6:00pm for this discussion with Keene State College professor, Mark Timney.

Off Target: What Hollywood, Journalists, and Shooters Get Wrong About Guns

This is an apolitical examination into the mythology that surrounds firearms. Without getting into a discussion about what we should or shouldn't do about the issue of "guns," Mark Timney's lecture and Q&A session will instead examine how our perceptions of firearms have been distorted by media and folklore. Such distortions - about the mechanics, ease of use, and lethality of guns -- have seriously hindered public discussion about the regulation of firearms. Timney says that this lecture/ discussion will change how people think about guns.

This event is free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities. A Vermont Humanities Council event hosted by Bent Northrop Memorial Library.
