Looking for a way to spend more time with your son learning life skills, doing community service and experiencing nature? The Mad River Valley Cub Scouts are looking for parents to be leaders and boys to join together with thier friends in Moretown, Waitsfield, Warren and Fayston. "It takes a village" to raise conscientious kids and this is an excellent program that creates opportunities for kids and thier families to get involved in the community. The Cub Scout program was completely updated in 2015 and now has even more hands on actives geared towards helping boys appreciate the natural environment, and learn first aid skills, outdoor cooking while hiking and camping.

Stop by the Cub Scout canopy and check it out at Waitsfield Elementary School, Wednesday September 7th between 5:00 and 6:00. All parent leaders must attend Youth Protection Training in addition to being trained in thier rank. The ranks include Lions for kindergarteners, Tigers for first graders, Wolves for second graders, Bears for third graders and Webelos for fourth and fifth graders. Each rank has age appropriate activities and we gather once a month with everyone together. Parents lead and determine the schedule and activities. Families can sign up anytime during the year but now is the best time to get started!
