The Vermont Genealogy Library Open House is on Saturday, September 10, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for 30-minute demonstrations on Family Tree Maker, DNA Tests and Using Ancestry.com. Take in demonstrations of the Internet resources we offer in our computer room. Volunteers will be on hand to give tours of our library, book, and microfilm rooms with their many resources. There will be many genealogy books for sale and free refreshments. This event is free. The Vermont Genealogy Library is located on Hegeman Ave, Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, across from the State Police Building. Come check us out and bring a friend!

Beginning Genealogy Class Saturday, September 17, 2014 If you are relatively new to genealogy then our first class can help. Sheila Morris will discuss records, methods, and best practices for conducting sound research. She will also share strategies on how to organize the information you find. Bring as much information as you can about your grandparents; births, marriages, deaths and where they lived. After the talk our volunteers can help you get started using our many resources. Classes are held at the Vermont Genealogy Library located on Hegeman Ave, Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester, across from the State Police Building. Classes are from 10:30 to noon and are $5.00.
