Hyde Park Home Day is almost here! Bring your family and friends to Main Street in Hyde Park on Sept 17th to join the fun and festivities.
*Bring your own apples (about a 5 gallon bucket) and empty jugs to make your own delicious homemade cider with the Wickenden’s cider press.
*Don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item for the Lamoille Community Food Shelf, every item you donate helps local people in need. For your donation receive a raffle ticket to their own raffle. They’ll have a booth on Main Street.
*Smores Family Fun Recreational Park will be there making smores! Stop in for yours.They’ll have a mini-golf hole setup and go carts in the parade. Check them out!
*Come and eat! Our Food Court is located on Commonwealth Ave.across from PH Edwards. New this year our Hyde Park Fire Dept will be grilling burgers and hotdogs alongside the famous VFW’s French fries, fried wings and fried dough. Our friends at the Nepali Restaurant will be here with their tasty specialties again this year. A new addition is Hot Tamale offering tacos, burritos and tamales for lunch. It's all good!
*The Sweet Crunch Bakery will be open at their regular location on Main St, serving coffee, the best maple cookies and other delicious baked goods. Stop by to visit with Deb and enjoy the goodness!
*Our raffle is going to be excellent this year too. Many items coming in already, including a beautiful lamp from House of Troy. Stay tuned for a listing of items. 6 tickets for $5 or $1/ticket. Drop a ticket into the cup in front of the items you want to win. Drawing by 2:30.
*Our Grand Parade will begin at Noon from St Teresa’s Parish Hall down Main Street to the HPES and back to the Hall. Our Grand Marshals The Lanphear Farm, will be entering a big John Deer Tractor driven by Keith and Skylar. Kirk, Katrina and the rest of the family will be in W. Springfield receiving the 2016 Vermont Dairy Farm of the Year award. They said they felt honored to be chosen and wanted to be here with us. Kirk will have something written up for our announcer to read for him. Visit their farm on Oct 8th for their Open House and to congratulate them on their Farm of Distinction. We're very proud of their achievements!
* Again this year is our Thank You Cards to our local Responders: HP Fire Dept, NHP-Eden Fire Dept, NEMS, Sheriff's Dept, and HP Fast Squad. I'll have big poster-type cards for each Dept for you to say a personal Thanks. We'll present those to Responders afterwards.They were very appreciative last year. Let's make these even better, with more THANK YOUs!
