Once again, the Jericho Conservation Commission invites you to join us for some stargazing at Mobbs Valley as our final event for the Natural Places of Jericho 2016 Series. We will gather just before dark in the open meadow of Mobbs Valley off of Fitzsimonds Road to admire the night sky and check out some of the astronomical features visible at this time of year.
This event is intended for people of all ages and will only be a short walk from the Fitzsimonds Rd parking area. Even though it is a short walk, we suggest you bring a head lamp or flashlight for safety as well as a camping chair or blanket for comfort. We will have a couple of telescopes set up to for sharing, but feel free to bring your own viewing equipment.
As parking space is limited at the lot on Fitzsimonds Rd, we will have a carpool/shuttling location setup at the triangle of Fitzsimonds and Barber Farm Roads. Plan to meet at 7:30 pm at the triangle to be shuttled over to the trail head.
**Please note, though we have lucked out with beautiful weather the last couple of years, this event is subject to Mother Nature. If it is going to be raining or overcast, we will postpone the stargazing event to the following evening, Saturday September 24th.
