I post in response to recent posts regarding requests to use bathrooms and break-ins that may involve individuals looking for prescription medications.

While I have not been able to quickly locate any current information on the Essex Town Police website, the US Department of Justice Office of Diversion Control lists the next National Medication Take Back Initiative Day as October 26, 2013. The DOJ website lists both the Essex Town Police Station and Kinney Drugs (Pearl St) as accepting old/unused prescription medications between 10 and 2 on October 26.

While I have not had occasion to participate, I believe you simply bring unused/unwanted prescription medications to the site and you can drop them off for disposal, free and no questions asked.
