Informational Event About Welcoming Syrian Refugees to Burlington

Past event
Sep 7, 2016, 6:30 to 8 PM

Dear Neighbors,

Kit O'Connor, a Ward 5 resident who has worked hard to organize a discussion for interested and concerned residents about welcoming Syrian refugees to Vermont, asked me to post the following invitation on the Ward 6 FPFs.

My best,
Karen

Via Ward 5 Resident Kit O’Connor:

Regardless of whether Burlington receives Syrian refugees, Amnesty International USA’s Vermont leadership has asked the Burlington City Council to consider a symbolic resolution welcoming them. In September, Councilors Selene Colburn and Joan Shannon will introduce this resolution. Why symbolic? What’s a refugee? Who would qualify? Come to a free informational/discussion event on September 7 from 6:30-8 at the Fletcher Free Library to learn answers to these questions, discuss hopes and concerns and more!
