Riverside Community Park: Wild Edible / Medicinal and Useful Plants Walk Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 (10 to noon) in Fairfax, opposite the Middle School Library.
Naturalist Laurie DiCesare will lead a slow-paced nature walk around the easily-accessible trails of this lovely park. We’ll focus on edible, medicinal and Native American uses of plants...and other beautiful plants like Fringed Loosestrife (and its invasive cousin, Purple Loosestrife), purple-flowering Knapweed and Blue Vervain. We’ll also talk about whatever hops, crawls or flies by us (dragonflies are of special interest) in the process.
Fee: $8. Call Fairfax Community Library Program Planner Nicole Vance at 849.2420 to sign up.
To ask about Laurie's current Green Events list, e-mail NatureHaven@MYFairPoint.net or call 802.893.1845. Namaste and Good day. Laurie :-)
