Vermont Education Act 46 outlines a preferred education model as one school district -- with one school board -- which:
1. educates PreK through grade12
2. is its own supervisory district (supervisory union)
3. educates at least 900 students
4. operates schools PreK-12; or tuitions PreK-12; or operates schools through 6th or 8th grade and tuitions upper grades.
Alternative merger models are also offered.
