Hello, Neighbors,
Hope the summer has gone well for you. Our Ward 6 NPA will kick off the fall season with a meeting September 1 at Champlain College's Aiken Hall, corner of Summit and Maple Streets, 7-9 pm with social and snack time just prior.
We have a packed agenda. In addition to important updates on the evolving school situation--contract and bond issues-- from our board members Stephanie Sequina and Miraim Stoll; updates on Champlain College happenings from John Caulo and Sandy Yusen, and current happenings at UVM from Lisa Kingsbury, we have devoted a full hour to a discussion of the proposed Burlington Town Center project. Developer Don Sinex will be there as well as members of Coalition for a livable City, a local group which has questioned various particulars of the plan. Our City Council members, Karen Paul and Joan Shannon, will also fill us in on pending City business.
Your questions are welcome at any point in the evening but we'll have a specific time at the end for you to raise more extensive subjects from the audience. The Steering Committee looks forward to seeing you all.
Charles Simpson
ps. We'd love someone to join Clare, Peter Keating, and I on the steering committee so keep that in mind and get back to me or talk to Clare Wool or myself on the 1st.
