Missisquoi River Band at Headwaters Saturday, Aug. 20

Past event
Aug 20, 2016, 7 to 9:30 PM

The Missisquoi River Band, a bluegrass band from St. Albans, will be at the Headwaters Garden and Learning Center off of Danville Hill Rd. on Saturday, August 20th for a house concert. The suggested donation is $15. Come for a pot luck dinner at 6:00, the band will start at 7:00.

The band is playing for our New Economy Camp, a gathering of professors, students, and activists who are working on creating new economic systems that will work for everyone and that will stop the destruction of the natural environment, other species, and the living communities we need to survive. There has been an international, multi-university project underway called Economics for the Anthropocene - people from that project who have been focused on ecological finance will be here to discuss a new course of study being developed on that subject.

Other groups will talk about public banking, complementary currencies, and the markets, management, and metrics we need to shift gears and get the economy to work for good - it is possible. If you are interested in attending the discussion during the day, let me know, and be sure to register at https://neweconomycamp.eventbrite.com before Friday. We need to plan the meals for the event.
