Please join us for an overview of Jodi's grazing work in New Zealand with intensive sheep rotations for rapid topsoil formation/carbon sequestration and land regeneration. Jodi is also one of the leading biointensive gardeners internationally furthering John Jeavon's work abroad with plant-based intensive vegetable production in deep soil beds with close spacing, zero weeds, minimal tillage and continual cover cropping.
Jodi will overview themes and patterns in regenerative grazing such access to land and leasing, stocking density, regular move, days recovery, trampling and fertilizing = residual, portable infrastructures, low conformation animal selection, decision making, lessening outside inputs and fertilizer. Jodi will also be screening footage moving animals on farms he has worked on, typically sheep and cattle grazed holistically.
Jodi's background Mentored by local Taranaki farmers in fencing, stock and pasture management which has led to his work with Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms and Regrarian's Darren Doherty. Inspired by graziers such as Andre Voisen and Greg Judy, Jodi's grazing work has led him to work with holistically grazed farms and farmers throughout Victoria, NSW and California.
This work has led to the development of ROEBUCK FARM, mob stocking sheep on leased land with a daily move of 90 to 150 days recovery. Jodi's teaching takes him internationally, he has spent time with leading graziers and observed restored grasslands, pressure free stock handling and farmers setting goals based on quality of life.
Open to the public, all are welcome. Suggested donation 10 dollars to defray some of Jodi's traveling expenses. 224 Fiske Road, Rochester
