Mountain River School is excited to reopen its doors for our expanded grades on Wednesday September 7th! Space is limited, we encourage anyone interested to contact us about availability.

Mountain River School offers Holistic, Nature-Based Education, honoring the whole development of the child through experiential learning that engages and challenges children, while maintaining a low student teacher ratio. Grade levels are Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, combined 1st-3rd grade, and combined 4th-6th grade. Mountain River School will continue to expand each year with the ultimate goal of providing grades that span from TK-12th grade.

We will be coming together as a larger school community on August 14th at 4:00 p.m. and welcome any interested families to join. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our staff, tour our school and meet other students and current families. We will have live music, fun engaging activities for the kids and a potluck dinner. In following with one of our main tenets at Mountain River School, we believe “there is no such thing as bad weather only inappropriate gear,” we will gather rain or shine!

Although we are still renovating our space we are excited to show families where we will have a movement space including a climbing wall, balance boards, and more! We are also creating a small kitchen area and other creative spaces where children can build with numerous different materials. We are excited for these renovations to be completed by opening day.

Regarding the potluck, we kindly request that you label your dishes with their ingredients to help those with food allergies. We also request that families bring their own dishware and silverware as we strive to minimize the impact we have on our environment.
