Open Farm Week - Come on Down!

Past event
Aug 15 to 21, 2016

Come visit Midnight Goat Farm during Vermont Open Farm Week! This week-long celebration of Vermont farms and farmers markets is next week August 15-21. There are 100 sites throughout Vermont that are offering various fun events throughout the week.

After a rainy weekend we will be saving the goats from themselves. Apples are starting to peek out from some of the shade trees in their yard and we have to get them before the goats do! You see if they eat them they get all gassy and tipsy which makes for less milk and sillier goats. So now starts the time of year when we pick the apples the goats can get to and the one's which will drop into their reach. We then feed the apples we collect to our pigs who love them too.

Also this year we have planted some organic test crops which are being crowded out by taller more aggressive plants. The good news is both goats and pigs love these tall invading plants which we will be selectively picking and feeding out to them.
