Sept. 17: Luminous Crush CD Release Show at Wardsboro Town Hall

Past event
Sep 17, 2016, 7 PM

On Saturday, September 17, the band Luminous Crush - featuring Laura Molinelli and Ben Campbell - will perform in Wardsboro to celebrate the release of the band's CD "Lumina". All tunes on "Lumina" were written by Molinelli and Campbell. Luminous Crush has both an acoustic flavor as well as a full band "dream pop" delivery. It will be the full five piece band coming to Wardsboro's Town Hall, the first of several CD Release shows around the state. Other band members are: Christian Heins on bass, Joshua Kirk Moore on keyboards, and Adam Barker on drums.

Singer/songwriter Laura Molinelli has released five albums, and shared the stage with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Dar Williams, John Gorka, The Band, and NRBQ. The Rutland Herald notes that she "writes with intense imagery and emotion" and The Brattleboro Reformer adds that her voice is "sweet and rich as it resonates with that plaintive sound of bluegrass singers."

Multi-instrumentalist Ben Campbell toured for two years with Circus Smirkus as a member of the House Band and has collaborated with many notable Vermont musicians and groups, including Anais Mitchell. The Burlington newspaper Seven Days calls him "a sublimely gifted, insatiably curious and wildly multifaceted artist."

Molinelli, Campbell and Heins are also members of the local well-known bluegrass band The Bondville Boys.

This CD Release show is being presented by Wardsboro Curtain Call. Admission is $10 at the door. The show will begin at 7 pm; doors open at 6:30. Light refreshments will be served; this is a BYOB (beer and wine) event. Dancing is encouraged.

Wardsboro Curtain Call's next show will be with singer/songwriter Sarah McQuaid on Thursday, October 20. For more information about the Luminous Crush performance or Wardsboro Curtain Call, please call 896-6810 or email kwkmdavis@yahoo.com or visit www.WardsboroCurtainCall.net.
