Tomorrow's East Poultney Day Goes on as Scheduled: Details of Rain

Past event
Aug 13, 2016, 9 AM to 3:30 PM

Due to the local weather forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, August 13th, of showers and thunderstorms likely, the Poultney Historical Society has sought out a rain location alternative for our vendors and activities that maintain the historic atmosphere and locale of the East Poultney Green.

The good news is--we have found this alternative! We are very grateful to the United Baptist Church of Poultney and Pastor Todd for making their main and basement level common rooms in the beautiful 1805 church building on the green available to the Historical Society for use 9am-3pm as a rain location for our many vendors. Considered to be one of the most outstanding Federal style church buildings in Vermont, exploring the indoor spaces of this East Poultney landmark alone is worth the visit for patrons tomorrow.

The United Baptist Church will also still prepare and serve their Roast Beef Dinner indoors tomorrow evening at 5pm, and St. John's Episcopal Church nearby will have their special service and Organ music at 4pm as planned.

Regardless of the weather, the Historical Society and will have our museums around the Green open with exhibits and East Poutney Day programming, music, demonstrations, and speakers moved inside these and the United Baptist Church space with vendors if necessary due to conditions. We want to assure all visitors that shelter will be available, and that we are prepared to "go on with the show" with this over eighty year tradition! See you at East Poultney Day!

Thank you,
