Join Sandman and Maybe Mermaid for a lecture with photos of their 2015-16 hike of the Te Araroa Trail, an 1800 mile trek that runs the entire length of New Zealand. This diverse trail includes long beach stretches, wet rainforests, snowy mountain passes, volcanic landscapes, and countless river fords, all within the confines of a country of fewer than 5 million people.
Whether you're looking to make a similar journey yourself, or just want to learn about the joys and hardships of thru-hiking, this will be an insightful introduction to one of the world’s newest and greatest long distance trails. Additionally, with over 10,000 miles of hiking experience we can answer any questions about the esoteric world of thru hiking, the benefits of "slow travel", and the ins-and-outs of living a life on the trail.
