Transportation Board Holds Hearing to Name Route 22A After Veterans

The Vermont Transportation Board at 6 p.m. on August 17, 2016 will hold a public hearing on a petition to name Vermont Route 22A “The Desert Storm Veterans Memorial Highway.” Route 22A runs through the towns of Fair Haven, Benson, Orwell, Shoreham, Bridport, Addison, Panton, Ferrisburgh and West Haven, as well as the City of Vergennes.

The public hearing will be held at the Platt Memorial Library, 279 Main Street in Shoreham, VT. At the hearing, the Board will hear from the Petitioners and any member of the public interested in the naming request. The Petition was filed by Stephen A Leach, Vermont State VFW Chairman & Adjutant of VFW Post 6471 to honor those who committed and sacrificed on behalf of the United States to defend Kuwait’s liberty.
