August 10, 10-2pm is the 2nd Annual Vermont Statehouse Buy Local Market, on the Statehouse Lawn. The 2016 Statehouse Buy Local Market takes place during National Farmers Market Week and is organized by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets as part of the State’s Local Food Wellness and Consumer Awareness Initiative in partnership with the Vermont Buildings and General Services, Agency of Administration, Capital City Farmers’ Market, Green Mountain Transit, the Vermont Farmers’ Market Association and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. Please join us on the Vermont Statehouse lawn for a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Vermont agriculture and farmers’ markets under the gaze of Ceres, Goddess of Agriculture! This year, we will once again feature an amazing mix of Vermont products as well as a ton of delicious prepared food options featuring local, Vermont ingredients. Our vendors will offer drinks, ice cream, produce, yarn & fiber products, candles, meat, baked goods, yogurt, dog treats, cheese, local food cooking demonstration using gleaned produce, free yoga and live music!
