I was expecting a notice to go out from the Essex Police Department themselves, but maybe I missed it. Either way, I spoke with Police Chief Brad Larose a few days ago after hearing a number of constituents concerns. When the Essex Reporter went to print on Wednesday they did not have details for an informational meeting, but I have included them below, and put the event on my website in case it's easier for people to share that way:

"As was mentioned in the recent article in the Essex Reporter, on Thursday, August 11th at 7pm the Essex Police Department will be hosting a public informational meeting related to the recent release of a registered sex offender who had maxed out his prison sentence. The meeting will be held at the police department building on Maple St. Police Chief Brad Larose will brief any interested members of the public in attendance on what has already been done to address the situation, and what other steps are being taken now and in the coming days and week.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Corporal Miglinas (kmiglinas@essex.org or 802-878-8331) so they have an idea of what attendance will be like. If the meeting room in the new police department is not large enough to hold the number of people expected to attend, then they will find a new venue. So please call and leave contact info so they can notify you if there is a change of venue.
