"East Meets West" Opening Party at Miller's Thumb Gallery

Past event
Aug 6, 2016, 4 to 6:30 PM

August 2016 marks the centennial of the National Park Sevice and, in celebration of the stewardship of America's national parks, we introduce our new show EAST MEETS WEST. Featuring art inspired by the landscapes and lore of these two incredible locales, works on display will also reference the pervading myths of the American frontier. Artists will investigate the notion of unlimited opportunity in contrast to the ever more dimishing freedoms of Native Americans. As we find ourselves living in what can appear a more polarized climate, this show attempts to amplify and celebrate cross cultural communication and conservation.

This Saturday, August 6th, from 4-6:30pm, we will have our opening party for EAST MEETS WEST Come meet our wonderful exhibiting artists, enjoy delicious VT cheese courtesy of Jasper Hill and celebrate varied creative visions. The Greensboro Historical Society will be holding their annual Ice Cream Social on the same day from 2-4pm so you could make an afternoon of it, what better than ice cream and art? We hope you can join us.

EAST MEETS WEST will be on display from August 6th-October 13th. We are open everyday from 10-6 in August and 11-4 in September/October. To creativity!
