Join us for a morning of outdoor work and camaraderie on the mountain as we spruce up some interesting sites in the conservation area. We'll be clearing around the Bishop cellar hole complex and around the less well-known cellar hole a few hundred yards away. If we have a big enough crew, we'll send a team over to the abandoned Quonset Hut that once served as the base lodge for the ski area.
Bring your own favorite tool or borrow one of ours. Loppers, handsaws and chainsaws will be useful. If you want to use a chain saw, you MUST wear chaps and head/ear/eye protection. If you don't own this type of safety equipment, you can borrow one of our sets for the morning.
Meet at the Grant Road entrance to the conservation area. Not sure where that is? From Route 9 about a half mile east of the gift shop, turn south onto Butterfield Road, then take the second right onto Grant Road. For more info go to hogbackvt.org and click the Events tab.
