On Thursday August 4th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM the South Royalton Town Band will perform on the Green in South Royalton Rain site: South Royalton School small gymnasium. The band plays many styles of music every week, including marches, overtures, a little rock, pop tunes, Broadway medleys, Dixieland, novelty tunes,swing, music from the movies and of course, patriotic music.
The August 4th concert will be the last concert of the season in South Royalton, however there are two additional performances you can catch before the season's end. On Saturday August 13th The South Royalton Town Band will be playing in the Sharon Old Home Days parade that begins at 10:00 AM which will be followed by a short concert at the Sharon Band Stand. The band will then travel to Chelsea to perform a concert on the Chelsea Town Green at 2:00 PM.
Green Mountain Brass Band Comes to South Royalton
On Sunday August 7th at 2:00 PM there will be a special concert by the Green Mountain Brass Band on the Green in South Royalton. Rain site: South Royalton School small gymnasium. The Green Mountain Brass Band is a traditional band. It brings together some of the finest brass and percussion musicians in the State of Vermont. It performs concerts of traditional and popular music at bandstands, churches, and opera houses. The Band is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to entertain, educate, and perpetuate musical band culture.
The Band has 26 Bandsmen playing brass and percussion instruments. The brass instruments include Cornets, Flugelhorns, Horns, Baritones, Trombones, Euphoniums, & Basses. The Percussion instruments include the Drum Set, Bells, Tympani, and many more.
The Bandsmen come from Vermont's musical community. They include builders, doctors, engineers, lawyers, librarians, painters, soldiers, teachers, and professional musicians. You can hear them most any week at concerts, musicals, weddings, and churches, but you can only hear them all at once in the Green Mountain Brass Band!
