Historic Barn Tour Oct. 12

On Saturday October 12, the Henry Sheldon Museum will sponsor a tour of six premier historic barns in Addison County. Experts on early agricultural architecture will interpret several of the properties. Speakers include: Josh Phillips, former director of the Vermont Barn Census who is considered the state's resident expert on barns; Caitlin Corkins, VT Division of Historic Preservation; Glenn Andres, professor of the history of art and architecture at Middlebury College; and Jack Watts, owner of Glen Dale Farm.Enjoy craft demonstrations and exhibits at Glen Dale Farm in Cornwall. Included in the tour: UVM Morgan Horse Farm; Hagar Farm; and Jewett Farm in Weybridge and Barnett Barns; Hodges Barn; and Glen Dale Farm in Cornwall. Also, craft demonstrations and farm architectural and hand tool exhibits at Glen Dale Farm.

Tickets are $20; children under 12 admitted free. The barns may be viewed in any order between 10 and 4 pm on the 12th, rain or shine.
