The Black Snake Affair

On August 3, 1808, an engagement on the Winooski River between U.S. customs agents and potash smugglers resulted in lives lost. Come join us to learn not only what happened but who was involved. Walk to the spot on the river to imagine what it was like at that time and view the historic marker commemorating this event.

Tickets are required for these lectures. $6.00 at the door or $5.00 in advance by calling 865-4556. All proceeds benefit the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum.
