Closing the summer pride festival, Chicago-based guest artist Nelson Rodriguez shares Gullermo Reyes set of comedic monologues, which the New York Times called "Glorious": the chronicles of gay Latino immigrants dealing with the shock of race and gender identity known as the "Hispanic breakdown." Of his performance, the Chicago Tribune wrote: "Nelson Rodriguez's sensitive and febrile performance nails the confusion of characters who are twice displaced — as immigrants and as gay men — from the American dream." We'll laugh and cry with these outsiders to both their culture and their adopted country.
