Hey neighbors,
Vermont is having its state political primary on August 9th. I want to invite everyone out for a chance to meet local and statewide candidates running for office. This Thursday, Rights & Democracy is having a Meet The Candidates/Get Out the Vote event at the office we share with the Champlain Senior Center at 241 N. Winooski Ave. We'll even have pizza and Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's, scooping ice cream. Rights & Democracy is a local grassroots organization that works for economic, social and environmental justice and has been inspired to bring the energy from Bernie Sanders Presidential Campaign to a local level. Our members voted to endorse candidates up and down the ticket they thought could help bring his agenda to a state level. This will be a great chance to meet some of our endorsed candidates and help move key issues like these forward, enjoy some food and drinks, and help reach out to folks in the community to get out the vote.
