Village Harmony at Grace Church Sheldon July 24:
Village Harmony returns to Sheldon's Summer Music at Grace concert series on Sunday, July 24. The concert is part of a 20-day touring session led by Larry Gordon, John Harrison, Zoe Christiansen and features Macedonian songs and dances, American gospel and shape-note, South African songs and dances and original compositions.
The July 24 concert will feature Balkan folk dancing and singing inspired by two Macedonian teens who are part of this years camp, and Village Harmony alumna Zoe Christiansen will lead a Balkan band with member instrumentalists. Long-time Village Harmony leader John Harrison will bring his lively arrangements of a cappella gospel as well as original compositions inspired by gospel and shape-note. Village Harmony co-director and founder Larry Gordon will lead South African songs and dances, shape-note songs, and some contemporary pieces, as well as leading much of the dancing.

The concert begins at 4 p.m. and is followed by potluck supper. A sliding scale donation ($5-10) is greatly appreciated. More information is available at www.gracechurchsheldon.org. Grace is located at 215 Pleasant Street, Sheldon (Creek) and is wheelchair accessible.
