The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge in cooperation with the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, LLBean, Montgomery Adventures and the Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting the third “Family Paddle Day” on August 6, 2016.
Held at the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge on the Missisquoi River families will gather to experience and learn about canoeing and kayaking. Families with little to no experience in boating are invited to attend. The day begins with an introduction to canoes and kayaks, safety issues and techniques. Families will then have a chance to practice paddling on the river with guidance and supervision of experienced paddlers. The day ends with a lunch hosted by the Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge at the Refuge’s Visitor Center.

The day will begin at 9:15 am meeting at the Louie’s Landing Boat Ramp on the Missisquoi NWR just west of Swanton. We will be on the water until 11:30 and then have lunch at the Refuge Visitor’s Center at noon.
