Youth Tennis Jamboree
Addison County Athletics Foundation
Objective: To provide a culminating activity for summer youth tennis, provide an opportunity for play, and increase community support for youth tennis.
Program Description: This event would consist of clinic based activities, food and family activities, as well as on court play time for participants. This is not competition based for younger tennis players. This event would focus on tennis related skills & activities, but also quick matches, based on what they learned in their summer programs.
Registration Goal: 50 participants
Proposed Date: Saturday, August 19th
Proposed Time: 9am – 12pm
Fee for Participants: $15.00
Targeted Audience:
• Elementary School Age
• Middle & High School Age
Registration Process:
• Registration would be online www.vermontcf.org/acaf
o Registration would obtain skill level, contact information, shirt size, and payment
• once registered – participant would be emailed additional event details and confirmation
Example Event Schedule:
8:15-9:00 am – Participant Check-in
• Participants receive registration packet: court station, rally time & court number, jamboree t-shirt
8:15-1:00pm – Vendors & Activities for participants and families
• ACAF & MIT table
• USTA Youth Tennis
• Parks & Recreation – Middlebury, Bristol
• Boys & Girls Club – Rutland, Vergennes
• Teen Centers
9:00-9:15 am – Event Kick-Off and Opening remarks
9:15-10:15 – Participants report to their designated court to participate in age/skill appropriate activities & games. This portion is designed to be similar to a lesson or clinic but also follow USTA’s push for “fun”.
• Elementary age participants
9:15-11:30 – Middle & High school participants would begin non-elimination, shorter format, and doubles tournament on two courts
10:15-10:30 am – Break and report to Rally Court.
• Staff/volunteers would set up mini nets/courts
• Courts are numbered and participants are aware of their court assignment and schedule
10:30-11:30 am – Participants will begin to rally with assigned group/partner. Each court will be coordinated and led by a volunteer from ACAF. This volunteer will ensure that rally’s happen on time and participants stay on task, are motivated, and swap partners on time.

11:30-1:00 – Wrap Up, Food Provided
