Healthy Waters Walk & Vigil

Past event
Jul 21, 2016, 7 to 9 PM

Join us for a Walk and Vigil on Thursday, July 21st at Burlington's City Hall Park to publicly mourn the current condition of the lake and all polluted and poisoned waters in Vermont. After assembling at City Hall Park at 7pm, we will walk to the waterfront to mourn the current condition of our beloved lake--source of our drinking water, nourishment for our soul, and engine for our economy.

By gathering in solidarity, we will draw attention from media and from politicians in a position to "heal the patient." Enough is enough.

As the cyanobacteria outbreak season quickly approaches, it's time to share how our water is hurting us and turn our grief and frustration into action. Bring a candle and a friend or five and join the growing movement of Vermonters who realize swimmable, drinkable, fishable water must be a priority if there is any hope of having economically and ecologically sustainable communities.

The event is hosted by Lake Champlain International, Sierra Club, Conservation Law Foundation, and Rights & Democracy VT. The four organizations are partnering to ensure that our elected Restore The Trust and restore and protect swimmable, drinkable, fishable waters--for everyone!

Come out and show support for their efforts to protect and restore our water.
