The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) will make a presentation to the Richmond Selectboard about the proposed project to replace the US 2 bridge over Snipe Island Brook in 2017 at its July 18th meeting at 7 p.m. in the Richmond Town Center meeting room, 203 Bridge Street, Richmond. The 1929 single-span concrete bridge is structurally deficient and warrants full replacement. The Agency intends to use accelerated bridge construction techniques that will result in closing the bridge for approximately three weeks next summer. All Route 2 travelers will need to use a detour route during the closure period. Learn more about the project by attending this meeting and by signing up to receive e-mail updates.
