School Governance (Act 46) Committee Community Forum in Lincoln

Past event
Jul 18, 2016, 6 to 8 PM

Friends and Neighbors,
Below is the official announcement of the community meeting here in Lincoln.
First a personal announcement. As many of you know, I am one of the Lincoln Representatives on the Act 46 or school governance study committee. As I contemplate my final vote of support or opposition to the proposed changes in how we make decisions about our schools, it is vitally important to me that I hear what you are thinking. The proposed changes in school governance represent a significant change in our community's ownership, ongoing investment and decision making powers at the Lincoln School. The same is true for the other four towns in our district.
If you can make it to the meeting that would be great. If you can't, or would prefer to communicate directly, I would very much appreciate it if you could be in touch via email mfisher@gmavt.net. If email is a challenge for you, I am also happy to take some phone calls at (802) 989-9806.
Thank you,
Mike Fisher

ANESU Act 46 Study Committee Community meeting at the Lincoln School
Please join the ANESU Act 46 Study Committee on July 18th, 6-8 pm at Lincoln Community School to review, ask questions, and provide feedback about our study committee report.

The study committee has met over the past nine months to review options for unification and is ready to submit our draft report to the Agency of Education to start the review cycle. Community members and school board members are invited to attend this informational meeting and discussion. We are looking to hear from you about whether you find the report clear and complete, and if you have feedback about specific decisions we've made on how to structure our union.

The report draft will be posted on www.anesu.org Monday July 11 to allow time to review ahead of the meeting. Even if you aren't able to review the report ahead of time, please join us for the discussion!

If you aren't able to attend the meeting, you can share your feedback by emailing Jen Stanley, committee chair, at jstanley@anesu.org, through your town's committee representatives, or by mailing comments to ANESU, 72 Munsill Ave Suite 601, Bristol, VT 05443, attn: Act 46 Committee.
