The Washington County Office for the Aging is sponsoring a Health Insurance/Wellness Expo for Medicare recipients on Thursday, October 17 from noon to 5pm. It will be held at the Washington County Building, 383 Broadway, Fort Edward, Entrance B - downstairs. Admission is free. There will be refreshments and giveaways.

They are offering free screening and assistance in choosing supplemental insurance and prescription plans (bring a list of current medications). Medicare open enrollment is October 15 to December 7. Representatives from many insurance companies will be at the Expo, including Today's Options, MVP, CDPHP, AARP, Humana, and United Healthcare.

Among the services offered are nutrition/meal programs, transportation, home care, Medicaid and food stamps, housing assistance.
