COMMUNITY CENTER IN JERICHO COUNTRY GARDEN TOUR 2016

On Saturday, July 16, from 9am to 3pm seven residents and avid gardeners of Jericho and Underhill will open their gardens for "Country Garden Tour 2016", sponsored by the Community Center in Jericho. Ticket holders will enjoy a complimentary garden tea and a self-guided tour through some of the most delightful gardens in Jericho and Underhill. To honor the 400 year passing of Shakespeare, the theme this year is "Shakespeare in Your Garden." Elizabeth Bernstein will be reciting quotes from Shakespeare's plays, mentioning flowers or herbs, in one of the tour gardens . Stakes will be placed in gardens identifying plantings from his works. One of the gardens was strongly influenced by the rustic Shakespeare Garden installed in Central Park in 1916, composed of rustic cedar arbors, trellises and benches. Tickets $15 can be purchased at the Jericho Country Store, Old Mill Craft Shop and the Underhill Country Store. The day of the tour available tickets can be purchased at the Old Mill Craft Shop.
