Building Nasa's Mars Rover - August 3

Dr. Gaj Birur, a spacecraft engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will give a talk on NASA’s latest Mars rover, ‘Curiosity,’ also known as Mars Science Laboratory on August 3rd at 3:00 PM at the Greensboro Free Library. He will describe some of the challenges and excitement in designing and building the rover. He will summarize what scientists have learned from ‘Curiosity’s’ four years of operation on Mars.

The talk is directed towards students in elementary and high school but will also interest adults. Videos and pictures of the rover build, testing, launch, and operations on Mars are included. The talk will be interactive and Gaj will answer questions from the audience.
