Back Roads Readings, sponsored by The Old Stone House Museum in Brownington, is a series which brings distinguished poets to the Northeast Kingdom every summer. The first reading is this Sunday with Major Jackson and Ellen McCulloch-Lovell. Jackson, a professor at the University of Vermont and author of four collections, is a familiar name in the poetry circuit. McCulloch-Lovell, the first female president of Marlboro College and a former staffer to Hillary Clinton, published her first book of poems in 2010. Come to the Brownington Congregational Church on Sunday, stay after for refreshments and a book signing. Free. For more information, go to backroadsreadings.com.
