Celtic Spirituality Retreat, July 9, Saturday. 9 AM to about 3:15 PM.
The fullness of summer. A time to step back from all the work we have done, watch it flourish, and reflect. Celtic spirituality affirms God's ever-present, ever-loving, ever-compassionate participation in the cosmos.
In the full flush of summer, when our New England landscape is bursting with activity as plants and animals flourish in the light, warmth, and moisture, a retreat is our chance to step back from our own business to observe, reconnect, and learn from nature. Our summer retreat is the mirror image of our winter retreat, where all outside was still. Now we observe the explosion of life around us, and return to the quiet interior that supports spiritual insight, our deepest connections with the mystery we name God, through God’s good and blessed creation.
We meet beginning at 9 AM at Mary Hill’s home. There will be times of conversation, silence, music, writing, and meditations both spoken and silent, times of creative artwork and walking in the woods. The Rev. Dr. Regina Christianson will present the meditations from within Celtic spirituality. Mary Hill will guide us in our artistic opportunities. Lunch and snacks are pot luck. There is no fee. A freewill offering will be gratefully accepted, but in no way expected.
Please respond to this posting for more information and to make sure there is space and food enough for all.
