The Annual Meeting of the Aldrich Memorial Association - the Board that oversees the preservation and operation of the 1803 Robinson sawmill at Kents Corner Calais - will be holding its annual meeting on Thursday evening July 21st at 7PM at the Calais Town Hall in Gospel Hollow. This is an exciting time for the sawmill, as the board has recently engaged an engineering firm for technical advice and assistance in restoring the dam and mill pond to a working condition in a responsible manner. A fundraising campaign will soon be underway as well. If you are interested in the mill, or becoming a member of the association (dues are a whopping $10 a year, $15 for a family), please consider attending the annual meeting to be part of Vermont history.
This year's meeting will include a proposal to amend the association's by laws to increase the size of the current 7 member board.
