Eco-Dyeing & Potluck Lunch with Barb Mutrux
July 17th 10 - 2 pm The Masonic Hall in Craftsbury Village
Class Fee: $40
Silk, plants, water, a bit of whimsy along with a great deal of color, is the order of the day with this class where we will explore how to eco-dye prints of plants on fiber. We will experiment with leaves and petals placed on silk and then bundled for their bath. There is always a surprise waiting at the end of the process and that is the most fun.It is designed as a “follow the leader” project with plenty of room for you to make your own designs. The fiber we will be working with is silk and perhaps a bit of white wool fabric. Printed silk, already dyed silk and otherwise treated fabric is not advisable, you are welcome to bring your own white, untreated silk and wool fabric. If you enjoy colors and surprises this class is for you!
