Dear Friends,

A few weeks ago, I announced that I am running to represent the people of Elmore, Morristown, Worcester, and Woodbury in the Vermont State House of Representatives.

For many years, I have observed from a distance the work of the people in Montpelier. And, recently, it has become clear that while their intentions have been good, the results have been disappointing, with state spending vastly outpacing incoming revenues, and higher taxes and fees on all Vermonters in order to pay for it.

Our friends and neighbors continue to struggle; our businesses are finding it more and more difficult to stay in business and be successful; and our families are doing their best to pay their bills and save for college, but feel they are falling further behind.

We need people in Montpelier who understand these challenges, and will put these issues at the forefront of the agenda.

I am excited for the opportunity to help do just that for the people our great communities, and that is why I’m running.

So, please join us for the Gary Nolan for House Campaign Kick-Off Celebration. It will be held at the Charlmont Restaurant and Pub on Wednesday, July 13th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

I am not a politician, and have not done this kind of thing before. As our team has put the campaign together, however, the harsh reality has become evident that in order to win, we need the financial resources to do so.

This campaign will be a challenging one. But, I welcome the opportunity to take our case for fiscal responsibility, tax relief, regulatory reform, and just plain good government to the people of this district, and look forward to offering the voters a clear choice to move forward.
