The Salisbury, Vermont Historical Society presents a pictorial and narrative of the Forest Dale Banjo Factory Years (ca. 1911-1915). Fred J. Bacon (1871-1948) was a world renowned banjoist who lived in Forest Dale, VT from 1906-1915 and operated a banjo factory there. He and his wife, Cassie, were accomplished musicians. An account of their Forest Dale years including a significant world-wide “musical first,” connections to Lake Dunmore, Brandon, Rutland, Middlebury & environs will be explained. Bill Powers will narrate the Bacon story that will include more than 50 pictures and illustrations.
