On Saturday the Mad River Libraries kick off the summer reading program at the Warren Public Library! Active games keep your body in shape and your mind fit for reading! Come join popular children’s author, storyteller and musician Michael Caduto for an exciting hour of games in the Native American tradition, as well as stories, music and a circle dance. This fun hour of activity includes running races, hoop and stick, rabbit sticks, the Cherokee butterbean game, Cat’s cradle, keep-the- ball-in- the-air and more. Michael also performs Native stories, such as “Turtle Races with Bear” (Seneca), “Azeban & the Great Stone” (Abenaki) and “The Great Lacrosse Game” (Menominee). This participatory family program engages the audience in the Great Circle of Life through Native American games and explores the
importance of an active body and mind for living in balance. Free and open to all.
