Girl Rising Screening Nov. 7th, 7:00pm
Mountain Mamas is hosting a screening of Girl Rising, a film about about the world-changing power of educating girls. The film spotlights the stories of nine unforgettable girls born into unforgiving circumstances like Sokha, an orphan who rises from dumps of Cambodia to become a star student and an accomplished dancer; Suma , who composes music to help her endure forced servitude in Nepal and today crusades to free others; and Ruksana, an Indian pavement dweller whose father sacrifices his own basic needs for his daughters quest for an education.
