Coming up Thursday on Goddard College Community Radio—Vermont leads the nation (but trails the rest of the industrialized world) in a GMO labeling law that takes effect Friday. But the GMO-food industry is still maneuvering in Congress to pre-empt the law. What will be different on July 1 of this year, and what is the likelihood of federal pre-emption? Interim host Vic Guadagno continues on the program; I’m co-producing with him.
Also: There will be a celebration of the GMO law Friday at noon on the State House lawn, followed by one at Hunger Mountain Coop 2-4 pm. I’ll be serving free ice cream at the Coop—come on by and let me scoop up something for you!
