The Planning Commission is hosting a hearing on the proposed changes to the bylaws. The hearing will take place on Thursday 6/30/16 at 7pm in the town hall meeting room (and will be moved to the gym if attendance demands it). You can find the notice and bylaws at the Town Clerk's office or on the town website - peachamblog.blogspot.com.

If you cannot attend the hearing, but would like to give feedback, you can submit your feedback in writing to the Town Clerk's Office or to Melissa at peachamkohl@gmail.com.

In order to highlight the significant changes to the bylaws, the Planning Commission has created the following document:

TOWN OF PEACHAM
PLANNING COMMISSION
PROPOSED BYLAWS REVISION
The Planning Commission has sought to simplify and clarify zoning procedures. Major changes are highlighted below:
MAJOR CHANGES TO THE BYLAWS:
1. Village District (VD) lot size requirement reduced from 1 acre to ½ acre and road frontage requirement reduced to 100 feet.

2. RR1 & RR2 districts combined into RD with these lot and road frontage requirements: 2 acres; 200 feet.

3. The boundaries of the village districts redrawn so that they follow lot line borders, eliminating the circumstance where one lot exists in two zones.

4. Many formerly conditional uses are permitted uses.

5. The permitted and conditional uses have been expanded.

6. Home occupation requirements have been changed.

7. There is no longer a permit required for accessory structures up to 100 square feet in area (like a shed).

8. Accessory structures can now be up to 50% of the primary structure/home (was previously 30%).

9. Administrative waivers by the zoning administrator are now allowable to accommodate necessary safety changes and ADA access.
