The Monkton Museum and Historical Society field trip to the Vermont Marble Museum in Proctor will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Attendees will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Monkton Town Hall and carpool to Proctor. The museum is the largest marble exhibit in the world. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for seniors. A $1 discount on ticket prices is available if reservations are placed by email to monktonmhs@gmail.com or by phone at 482-2277 by Tuesday, July 5. If arrangements can be made with the Proctor Historical Society to view its collection of Vermont Marble Company photographs, the first stop of the field trip will be the Proctor Library where the collection is located.
