Fall Genealogy Conference The public is invited to attend the 2013 Fall Genealogy Conference. Our third speaker will be Ed McGuire on “Genetic Genealogy: The Companies, Costs & Results Using DNA Testing”.

For over a decade genealogists have been employing simple DNA tests to provide genetic evidence of family connections, find unknown cousins and discover the migration routes of ancient ancestors. Y-DNA from male relatives provides paternal line data, and mitochondrial DNA that we all possess helps us with maternal lines. In this talk Ed will cover both types of tests, when to use them, how to interpret results, how much they cost and which companies to use.

Other speakers will be Willard Sterne Randall on Benning Wentworth and the founding of Vermont, and Mathieu Paradis on the War of 1812.
