Varnum Library - Greek Myths Saturday!

Past event
Jun 25, 2016, 10 to 11 AM

It's Summer, the season of campfires and stories being passed down. No campfire at the Library but we will introduce children to some of the oldest tales known.

The Greek myths are part of an oral tradition that began in the Bronze Age and continued to be expanded upon. The ancients used the stories to explain the world around them and develop a social order- thinking over the needs for justice and balance. Some of the myths have their basis in truths, others were jumping off points for something new and the rest- just good stories.

Please join us this Saturday for Greek Myths and more. Light refreshments- Greek inspired and as always the Library is great place to be!
